Eddie Loco DJ Profile

Few young DJs can boast a residency in the Far East and sets alongside the World’s hottest DJs among their credits. Twenty-two year-old Eddie Loco is no ordinary young DJ.

Eddie Loco first took to the decks in 1999, playing a mix of Trance, Techno and Hardcore, and quickly earned warm-up sets at local bars and clubs. However, following an awakening at ‘Subliminal’ at Pacha, Ibiza in 2002, he decided to buck the trend of other local DJs by abandoning the harder side of dance music in favour of funky, soulful House music. Over the past eight years, Eddie Loco has supported some of the World’s finest DJs and producers, including Alex P, PPK, Public Domain, Dave Pearce, Lisa Lashes, Cosmic Gate as well as top Welsh DJs such as Danny Slade, Neil Roberts and Cally & Juice. At the age of 16 he was awarded a residency at Wales' premier hard dance event, The Evolution Experience, described by Mixmag in a two page feature as 'The biggest, loudest night in Wales'. He also appeared in Ministry Magazine under his former DJ alias, ‘Norq’.

Eddie Loco has since played top venues, including The Fridge (Brixton), Aberystwyth Arts Centre; Glamorgan University Students Union; Haverfordwest County Showground, plus several local clubs and bars in and around Pembrokeshire and Pontypridd. He also throws free parties during the summer months in venues around the Pembrokeshire coast.

In 2004, Eddie Loco went international under ‘The Evolution Experience Asia Tour’ with a three month residency at the 1500 capacity Manhattan Disco and Kiss Bar in Shantou, south east China, where he was the first western DJ to bring European and US House music to this developing city of 1.5 million people.

Eddie Loco returned to the Chinese Province of Guangdong in summer of 2007 for a tour with Budweiser, where he packed out nightclubs across the province with his new style of eclectic music, mashing up House, Electro and Breakbeat with a hint of Rock.

Since returning from China, Eddie Loco has started his own night called Panache, which prides its self on music that is both different and exciting within the House genres, offering summer sounds right throughout the year. After two successful nights at Glamorgan Students Union, which attracted over 300 people on a Thursday night, Eddie Loco and the Panache team decided to move to a new home in Raffles in Pontypridd, where it is now running more strongly than ever, and at a much better time of the week; a Friday night.

Eddie Loco is a passionate and energetic young house DJ who believes that dance music should be fun, classy, uplifting and attitude-free. He combines professionalism with a little hedonism, and has the ability to read the crowd and keep the dance floor packed at any time of the night.
